How to Obtain Your FIDE ID Number in Chess

If you're a passionate chess player looking to take your game to the next level, having a FIDE ID number is essential.

FIDE, the international chess federation, assigns unique identification numbers to players worldwide, facilitating participation in official tournaments and tracking player ratings. Once you get one, include it to your Outpost Chess profile. Here's a simple guide on how to obtain your FIDE ID number:

Register with Your National Chess Federation: Before obtaining a FIDE ID, you typically need to be a member of your country's chess federation. Contact your national federation or visit their website to register as a player. Most probably, this is the work of your Rating Administrator. In most cases, there is an email address for this person available on the official website of your National Chess Federation.

Participate in FIDE-Rated Tournaments: To be eligible for a FIDE ID number, you must play in FIDE-rated tournaments organized or sanctioned by your national federation. These tournaments adhere to FIDE's rules and regulations, ensuring the accuracy of player ratings. If you are not playing, or being active in a chess world there is no reason to have a FIDE number ;)

Submit Your Information: Once you've participated in a FIDE-rated event, your tournament organizer will collect your personal details, including your full name, date of birth, etc. This information is then submitted to the FIDE, and your rating under your FIDE ID will be tracked.

Verification and Registration: Once you have your FIDE ID, you are all set to track and estimiate your success in the world of chess. Please take a look who is the best now: https://ratings.fide.com/

This number will be your identification in all future FIDE-rated events and will be used to track your performance and ratings internationally. Once you get one, be sure to upload it directly to your Outpost Chess profile so that clubs and tournament organizers can find and engage you.

Maintain Your FIDE ID: Once you have your FIDE ID number, keep it safe and use it whenever you participate in FIDE-rated tournaments. Your FIDE ID remains valid as long as you maintain your membership with your national chess federation and continue to participate in FIDE-rated events.

By obtaining your FIDE ID number, you open up a world of opportunities to compete in official chess tournaments both nationally and internationally. Whether you aspire to improve your skills, compete for titles, or simply enjoy the thrill of the game, having a FIDE ID is an essential step in your chess journey.

In a short words: Connect with your Rating Administrator, obtain your FIDE ID, and start enjoying official chess events!

Good luck! Outpost Chess
